THE MILLENZ MANIFESTO
A New Generation Refuses to Inherit Fear
We are MillenZMovementRwa generation born during and after 1994. Raised in the shadow of trauma and shaped by silence, we are now actively choosing courage over fear.
We are NOT politicians.
We are NOT funded by any party.
We are NOT driven by hate.
We are driven by FREEDOM.
We rise because Rwanda deserves better than fear disguised as stability, and obedience mistaken for patriotism.
1. Our Core Pillars
Freedom of Speech: A Rwanda where nobody whispers, deletes messages, or fears a knock at night.
Dignity: No Rwandan should be insulted, exiled, abducted, silenced, or killed for disagreeing.
Justice: Healing comes from truth, not forced silence.
Accountability: Leaders are public servants, not gods. Respect is earned, not demanded.
Real Peace: Not the peace of fear, but the peace of trust between leaders and citizens.
2. Why We Rise
We rise because our generation is utterly tired of:
Intimidation, propaganda, and threats
Forced loyalty and rewritten history
A culture of fear disguised as unity
Our Promise: Rwandan youth deserve a future where we can speak, dream, disagree, create, innovate, travel, and thrive without fear. We refuse to inherit the chains our parents carried.
3. What We Reject
We draw a line in the sand. We explicitly reject:
Dictatorship and cults of personality
Forced praise and the intimidation of journalists
Criminalizing dissent and the surveillance of citizens
Exile as a punishment
Dividing Rwandans into "good" vs. "bad"
Our loyalty is to the people of Rwanda, not to one man.
4. Our Core Beliefs
Rwanda belongs to its people—not to a single man, party, or army.
Every Rwandan deserves to live entirely without fear.
A government with real support never fears criticism.
Patriotism = love of truth, not the worship of leaders.
The youth and the diaspora have both the right and the duty to speak.
5. Our Mission
We are actively building:
A fearless generation
A united youth movement
A safe digital space
A culture of truth
A future where no one is silenced
We speak for those who can’t.We resist for those who disappeared. We hope for those who lost hope.
6. A Call to Rwandan Youth
You were not born to obey. You were not born to fear. You were not born to be politically orphaned.
You were born to lead, to question, and to transform your nation.
Your voice matters. Your courage matters. Your existence is resistance.
7. To the International Community
Do not mistake:
Silence for consent
Fear for stability
Development PR for democracy
Behind the bright conferences and glossy headlines, thousands are silenced, exiled, intimidated, or missing. Rwanda is not a museum of perfection; it is a nation of human beings whispering truths they cannot speak aloud.
We ask for solidarity, not applause for repression.
8. Our Oath
We, the MillenZ, vow:
To resist oppression
To protect one another
To expose injustice
To choose courage over silence
To be the generation that ends fear
